EMBOSSING: THE TREND TECHNIQUE

Perfume & alcohol sets

Today, embossing has become a must in the world of packaging.

This centuries-old technique creates relief patterns on the paper. The desired pattern is engraved on a plate and, to obtain the impression in volume, the paper is placed between the engraved plate and a counterpart and then put under pressure.

Authenticity, embellishment of packs, simulation of materials and patterns, this art of trompe-l'oeil multiplies aesthetic possibilities and tactile sensations: it has become the darling of alcohol and perfume brands.

OUR MISSION

At Principe Actif, we started from the observation that embossing was divided between:

#  Art embossing:

a real job for artists who turn it into works of art.

#  Industrial embossing:

which offered luxury brands the service of embossing by reducing it to its minimum portion to produce in large quantities.

We decided to reconcile these two extremes and get the best of both worlds.  : quality and excellence on the one hand, speed and volume on the other.

In other words, we wanted to export to manufacturers what artists do exceptionally and on a large scale.

This is how the  3D embossing .

How ?

3D embossing therefore met this objective of providing brands with very high quality embossing, at a lower cost and reproducible.

How did we get there?

# Our customers thought that beautiful and complex embossing necessarily meant high cost.

We have demonstrated that the way the embossing tool is manufactured, adjusted, is decisive:

“A well-designed and well-adjusted tool can produce art-like embossing at a reasonable cost.”

The choice of paper is also a key element.

We have systematized the process that industrializes quality embossing:

# Step 1: Fine-tuning the brass embossing tool.

# Step 2: test embossing then creation of prototype models
(eg: perfume boxes).

# Step 3: after validation, transmission of the tool engraved by the craftsman to the industrialist. Production of a 3D scan to replicate it industrially.

# Step 4: Making the 3D embossing tool available to the brand’s suppliers worldwide.
